meditate every day

When you ask your brain to meditate, it not only learns to meditate better, but it also learns a whole set of important self-control skills, including mindfulness, focus, stress management, impulse control and self-awareness. People who meditate regularly are not just more successful in these areas. Over time, their brains begin to function as a fine-tuned willful machine. They have more grey matter in the prefrontal cortex and the areas of the brain responsible for self-awareness. (Excerpt from "Willpower: How to Develop and Strengthen" by Kelly McGonigal)
