- Define Test Manager
- Define Developer who will lead the release
- Check release scope and priorities, make sure it's up-to-date
Two days out
- Ensure all the scope is merged
- Cut the release branch
- Prepare release notes
- Arrange for deployment activities with external teams
Release
- Notify users about maintenance window
- Make backup
- Deploy DB changes
- Deploy UI changes
- Smoke check production
- Send out release notes
Post-release
- Celebrate release with the team
- Clean up released stories
- Have a post-release retrospective
